Joulong Energy Technology Co., Ltd. completed a successful showing at Oil & Gas Asia (OGA) 2026, held at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre from 2 to 4 September. At its standalone booth in Hall 6 (Booth 6808), the company welcomed around 500 visitors and collected leads from 50 companies, among them several processing engineers from PETRONAS and representatives of 10 upstream and downstream operators from Malaysia and Indonesia, spanning both onshore and offshore operations.

The centrepiece of the booth was a scale model of the company’s natural gas pressure differential power generation system. Using the model, the team walked visitors through the operating principle of the system, its process flow, and an integrated power-and-cooling solution that puts the recovered energy to work in both electricity generation and refrigeration. The model drew steady traffic throughout the three days and proved an effective way to explain a technology that is otherwise difficult to visualize.
A highlight of the exhibition was the signing of an exclusive partner agreement with Malaysia’s Simflexi Sdn Bhd. The agreement establishes Simflexi Sdn Bhd as Joulong’s exclusive partner for the Malaysian market and provides a framework for the two companies to jointly develop natural gas pressure energy recovery projects in the country.

The system on display recovers pressure energy during natural gas pressure regulation and converts it into electricity — without consuming a single additional cubic metre of natural gas. It operates in parallel with existing pressure-regulating stations and covers a power range from 100 kW to 10 MW. The core radial-inflow turbine achieves an efficiency of 86–91%, with overall system efficiency above 80%.
The technology is already proven in commercial operation. A 300 kW unit at the Zibo Chengyi Gas Phoenix Gate Station has been running stably since December 2021 as China’s first natural gas pressure differential power generation project. A 500 kW unit at the Sinopec Qufu Distribution Station, commissioned in January 2026, is the world’s first zero-carbon reheating system of its kind, generating more than 3.3 million kWh per year with zero fuel consumption and zero external heating.

Xu Jiasheng, Chairman and CEO of Joulong, said:
“OGA 2026 showed us how much pressure energy is still being wasted across Southeast Asia’s gas networks. The interest at our booth — from PETRONAS processing engineers to onshore and offshore operators in Malaysia and Indonesia — confirms that the technology is ready for this market.”
The booth was led by Chairman and CEO Xu Jiasheng and Market Development Manager Zhan Xiaojin. The company is now following up with the contacts made in Kuala Lumpur as it steps up market development across Southeast Asia.

About Joulong
Joulong Energy Technology Co., Ltd. is a technology company incubated by the Institute of Engineering Thermophysics, Chinese Academy of Sciences. It specializes in natural gas pressure differential power generation and cold energy recovery, holding 27 patents and ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 certifications. Its radial-inflow turbine generator units, ranging from 100 kW to 10 MW, recover pressure energy at natural gas pressure-regulating stations and deliver power, refrigeration and hydrogen-ready electricity to industrial users.
